Pros & Cons of iPhone Security

Another day left till iPhone's launch, congratulation to those who think they be getting it and have fun with its technology, 29 June 2007.
Apple iPhone looks real great to have but what does it take to secure it's use. Well just in case you are intending to purchase it yet or wondering on it's safety usages, same to the people who have been asking this question in this blog, about the security features for the iPhone technology.

From referring to this link of a news:
http://news.com.com/The+pros+and+cons+of+iPhone+security/2008-1029_3-6193430.html?tag=item

It really shows that Apple iPhone have been focusing into this matter quite seriously on it's security. Like any other devices which the company will do every it can to produce quality and safety of the device to the market. A security expert at IBM's Internet Security Systems, Neel Metha, which typically focuses on perimeter security for large corporations.

Overall, He thinks that the Apple iPhone will be very much successful or in other word 'better' in providing security like no other smartphone on the market can. Addition to that the lack of having the SDK (software developer kit) from Apple will help make the iPhone to be harder to tap into certain hackers or criminals on the net especially those that are inexperience in doing so. However more sophisticated criminal who's attracted to the challenge of hacking a complex system might test their skills.

"The iPhone is likely to be one of the most complex smart phones that we've seen to date. As such, it will be challenging to have to a completely secure code base. "

Questions on the treat that the iPhone might face is also mentioned. And the iPhone platform itself and all the applications that run on it is a treat to handle with. The OS X in the iPhone might just have security features like the Mac and it is also possible to be exploited in the processor. Well it shows that the iPhone is able to manage it security system averagely and it's worth the quality of the device perhaps, still the price is still looks expensive.

iPhone Usability Review Roundup

Just a few days more to go ... what is it? the launch of Apple iPhone in a few days (around 2 days more) for your information. OK now, before starting this i also want the visitors to this blog to know that there is translation link (more like a shortcut to do translations) in the sidebar (<<) just in case~, so anyone can just play around with it or spam it if anyone wants to.

Apple's first cell phone received mostly positive reviews from The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times Tuesday afternoon, although both pointed out several flaws with the device.

Very much of the technology of the iPhone have been released over the month since it first being introduced and results will come soon when launch. And from is being review about the iPhone shows a bit more clearer capabilities it has. Apple have somehow given to some lucky journalist that is David Pogue, Walt Mossberg and USA Today's Edward C. Baig are doing the first honors to have the iPhone. And what they say is, they all agree that the phone is being one of the sexiest phone ever hit the market.

The iPhone is being reviewed, so watch the video of Walt Mossberg reviews on the iPhone, showing some of the iPhone insides. Below.

From the video it shows that iPhone really is not a perfect device because there are really some flaws such as the call quality is just average ("OK") and and AT&T's weak sauce signal wasn't doing the iPhone any favors.

The display keyboard in the iPhone it may look kind of difficult but it show that it needs practice to manage it, Walt needed 5 days, something similar to some phone users before when using normal keys as input, well who know people just need to experience it and see how it goes.

The WiFi for the iPhone isn't much of the problem its something common for user to use it however the EDGE feature might not be showing good result as it's connectivity can run slow especially for traveling in distances.

But don't get disappointing yet there are still more than that, it still have much stylist usability in it as it is able to give new approach to handle the phone like the battery life in not an issue and it level of being more than other smart phones is still good. The touch screen works well at least and the iPhone's interface is not bad at all still able to give some quality and user friendly features. The finger-driven scrolling interface worked very well on the large touch screen. The Safari browser also works well with the iPhone with zooming capabilities by tapping it. And inputs made to manage the phone is very slick and simple to use interactions when sending mails, selecting and other activities done on the iPhone, similar to a computer as well.

Anyway the iPhone is still a new technology and how often is it for a product or technology to be so perfect when completed in a way? Apple and the iPhone may still have it's chances in future improves.~ So who thinks it still worth it or not?

iPhone having YouTube Player On Board

Here is something interesting especially to those usually visit the well known and wildly popular YouTube. Apple iPhone have planned and implemented a new feature to it, again it's not GPS but a special YouTube player that will allow users to access and launch directly to main site. iPhone owners can now load, stream, and browse videos from the video-sharing site as well as e-mail them to their friends like what can be done on the computer.
The built in application will be encoded in H.264 by YouTube which will also improve the video quality and the battery life on mobile devices. Videos can be view over WiFi and EDGE but it may seem unstable because the loading time could be unexpected, slowness? Hope not. However it quite interesting once you think the capability of Apple iPhone's Technology to support so much, and this may actually reinvent mobile devices in future too.

Feature iPhone's 8 Hour Talk and Glass Surface

Apple recently just show the iPhone's spec upgrades since the announcement in January. Now the iPhone have extended much more and have new features to increase more than it used to be. However still there are no feature on 3G or either GPS features for Apple iPhone's technology.

So what have been changed? Yes the picture of the table above (Battery Life) and below (Competitive Data matched) shows it all which shows the latest specification to have in the iPhone. The talk time, Standby Time, Internet Use, Video Playback and Audio Playback is being boost to meet certain extend. Apple is really trying to push the technology of the iPhone to have longer lasting batteries and of course its chargeable. Cool? keep continuing there one more.

Another improvement is on the screen side, Apple announced that the entire top surface of iPhone, including its stunning 3.5-inch display, has been upgraded from "plastic" to "optical-quality glass" to achieve a superior level of scratch resistance and optical clarity. Well isn't it interesting, now the iPhone will prevent from scratches and its glass. Looks very handy to use. But still it doesn't explain how the Apple's precious iPhone can resist from accidents like dropping it on the floor, will it survive? or will the plastic shield (the second picture after the table on battery life - above) accessory for the iPhone help protect it? Anyway the glass surface for it is really convenient just hope it doesn't get smudged easily ~

Headset for iPhone Use Is In~

The Apple Bluetooth Headset was actually announced before but no confirmation to it whether to be included with the iPhone uses. well this (a bluetooth headset) is not really a new thing because there are similar bluetooth devices in the market already and this something still very unsure to be done by Apple. However the FCC gave it a thumbs up for the use of it with the hyped iPhone and might even improves its capabilities. Still, some details about this are not clear enough to proof more about the bluetooth headset usability as part of the iPhone at least more info to the iPhone use is coming together.
Referred Link: http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/15/apple-bluetooth-headset-gets-fcc-go-ahead/.

Unfortunately its only one sided and since iPhone can play music and videos it might not give full experience to its function because the headset is only one sided and not two for each ears.

If only there is a bluetooth headset that can support both ear surrounding with two ears piece, giving more somewhat like a 3D environment to hear, quality audio for hearing and listening~.

iPhone is Tuned to iTunes

Well here is something more of a general information about the iPhone's and this maybe be good news or bad news to it's usage. Those who are signed up for "notify me" emails are hoped to be prepared for the launch on 29 June. In this Notify email it mentions at the bottom that to use iTunes in the with the iPhone the user will have to have an iTunes account. Somehow its for privacy purposes, security, and ease of use concern situations.

So it shows that when the iPhone is being released , the use of it's combination and the iTunes will require users to have i Tunes account to set up the iPhone. In this case anyone who is hoping to manage the iPhone effectively without signing up an account will have some difficulties in doing so especially when user rely on their free software. Anyway hope this will be temporary somehow because it might not be so necessary since its still a phone which is used to call not only for music, well it actually depend on the public.

Cool Uniqueness Appeals

Well as mentioned before everybody might have already know that Apple iPhone is coming in a few days time in 29 June, and it is having the similar affect to certain people most of the time to be more interested about new device being newly release in to the market with unique or latest technologies.

Referring to a newspaper article, thanks to a friend, from Thursday 14 June 2007 which i thought of sharing. it is about cause of Apple iPhone Hype have made many people to try getting it first. With free wireless connection, nearby available snack stores and friends, people such as those who are iPhone fans may get this idea intending to survive out side the store for a few days to grab the latest must have consumer gadget which is the iPhone. Imagine that waiting out there in the open, camping. Similar to people waiting to be the first person to watch a popular movie before others. So would anyone out there reading this do this activities or is this a not wise idea?

Most people there who are waiting for the iPhone thinks it worth the wait since it is all in one device with many cool new features which makes people more eager to get more out of it. However The iPhone, to cost between US$500 (RM 1,700) for 4GB and US$600 (RM 2040) for 8GB, will be available online and in Apple and AT&T stores. Last week on an eBay online auction it show the bids for the iPhone was as high as US$830 (RM 2822).The demands for the iPhone is really high indeed as expected as it can be seen.

In a book which help readers to pick a cell phone which shows more about the usage available in the phones: "The Cell Phone Decoder Ring". And the reasons for the iPhone to be cool because of the power of publicity machine at Apple, famous for their Mac notebooks computers and iPod music player which in fact true. Including the uniqueness of the capabilities possessed by the iPhone is truly remarkable like nothing anyone else have manufactured before consisting some of the latest phone technology. So these factors actually made Apple iPhone to look much cooler and to give cooler interactivity with it that may have attracted many to go towards it or maybe go against it as well.
if you wan to check out some more video related to the iPhone please use the sidebar videos to see more of it or if you'd like to request some video to put in the posts then it can be considered. ^^

iPhone Third-Party Application Details Announced

First of all before continuing this, I want to inform that there is a music player in this blog, and I hope it working fine for you viewers and hope you enjoy it as you please. ^^
If there is any problem please share your opinions or suggestions, thanks.

OK now for the news, which previously in a post, here, Weikytt questions about it. Well, here it is now. The news on the third-party application was recently announced officially at the WWDC as expected in this post. If not mistaken, just kidding.

Anyway the development for the iPhone’s third-party application is now much clearer and a fact, relief some trouble. The problem for crashes to happen in the iPhone is solved and the application is now usable and it will implemented once the iPhone starts to sell at 29 June 2007. And it will be running inside its browser Web 2.0, Safari. In truth it is said that it is forced to work with this browser only and with this the platform unique can be easily customizable and maintained to look feel better as well. It will be like any other normal applications, mobile dial numbers can be made, access web pages easily and other standard application iPhone can do can work fine. Yay?

So what is so good or cool about it then instead of just having it? With the third-party application, it actually makes the iPhone to more like a smart phone and from the developers, the iPhone can now tap into its mobile abilities better. Somehow it seem like a good idea. So Weikytt does this answer some of your questions?

“Steve Jobs claims that a working knowledge of modern web standards is all we'll need to code up custom iPhone goodies to our hearts' content.”

Results of new iPhone Kit At WWCDC

Ok for today, some details regarding the WWCDC event which have presented more additional detail on the technology and features of Apple's products which includes the Leopard (Mac OS X) and what have hope for is Specifications of the iPhone but not much is revealed ecept some new things related to it. However this might just be another expectation for its features but from what is heard, which comes from a keynotes:

Some new secret features revealed such as the iWork, iLife and .Mac integration (iDisk access, Mail access, documents on-line, etc. working capability) looks useful for performing some working features or some convenience uses.

Besides that there is one more thing which is supposely to a big news and that is the iPhone @ Home (iPhone at Home). Now this new product here is very much like the normal iPhone technology, its a relative of the iPhone or like sister gadget but this is used more on in-home portable phone use. It features a 10 ″ multitouch screen, 30 GB Flash memory, iPhone user surface, 8 hours of battery, no connections except dock Connector, resemble functions as iPhone, except mobile phone, integrated iSight and iChat. Yes, this is certainly like the iPhone but the differences can be seen.

The good thing, or it might be a bad thing (you decide), is the portable home use phone can now be using an iPhone with no mobile phone capability. So is this a good idea since a majority of people uses mobile phones now instead of house phones and it is said that house might be replaced as well. Yet this idea from Apple to have a iPhone at Home uses might bring another new level of phones, imagine a house phone having a mini computer (like a PDA) could be taken throughout the house and maybe using it as another iPod as well, this iPhone 'sibling' (its like a family of iPhones) actually might give a new perspective look for home phones usability and to improve more with high quality performance too. May include with video calling features too?

Well I certainly would like or hope to see what this device can bring about, of course in future. So what do think about it interesting enough for the iPhone development, perhaps it s intends to achive its friendliness usage for home as well?

Attention! iPhone Features Some Secrets & Updates?

Apple Inc have been busy and spreading some/many rumours and secrets to the public like delays of release, problem with the combinations of iPhone's features and so on. As for now the theres a news from AT&T annoucing its Network (EDGE) will be ready when iPhone starts selling. However it is not said officially that any improvements are being made the network for the Apple iPhone but still the network have some options in preparing for the iPhone as well as for other handsets.

The EDGE network will also still be enhancing thier coverage, capacity and overall performance of the networkto serve the best experience possible. So this can also mean it prepares to overcome any changes to suit it capability especially for the iPhone. Also the ability of the network to work with the iPhone is claimed to be effective in handling the traffic of the network, which prevents crashes. This concludes that Apples iPhone's network capabilities maybe well maintained in providing for it's usage and to have a strong network capability.

Here an update on the iPhone moves. The Apple iPhone will be selling a massive number of 3 million iPhones up for grabs for its launch day. This very high indeed if you see the status of the PS3 (sixth gen console) which had only 400,000 PS3. Looks like a very confident move to make.
Something similar to an iPhone technology that have no phone capabilities but with multi touch.
Another information on WWDC Monday at 10:00AM PST / 1:00PM EST, Apple information on their developments will be revealed again since the one in January and this may also include some additional specification for the iPhone. So more infromation on it will be said later, wait and see.~

Apple iPhone's Keyboard Problem & Discuss Matters

Just to re inform that the Apple iPhone will be coming out in a few days time, at the end of June , 29 th. But for Malaysia i still can't find when it be released here, but perhaps since it was said that it be shipped across certain country, in this it awhile for the iPhone.

Even for this to be finally happening the iPhone is still getting some bad comment about its touch screen keyboard. Since it has no specific buttons like regular phone and it also doesn't includes a stylus to navigate, still one of the frustration in the usage of iPhone' keyboard is mention by John Dvorak. And because of this the reputation for the iPhone will drop and included that 20% of the iPhone will be return when released, now that is very unlike since the iPhone is not out yet. Perhaps in the few days time and after it starts selling there may be a solution from Steve Jobs to this problem and hopefully not turn out to be disappointing to some people.

Hopefully the overall technology in the iPhone wont go down with low rates, since many fair share of hype products with 'cool' technologies don't quite turn out very well, one of the causes is the launch delays. For example the PlayStation 3 mesmerized the gaming world before its launch last year, and it hasn't sold nearly as well as the Nintendo Wii. So what motives can the iPhone come about especially the touch screen keyboard display, but this could be solved if the keyboard is landscape type so it be much wider.
Here is Poll where it shows how often and popular the iPhone is from this website. it currently in the 3rd position. Linked from:

Now here is a video i want to share which demonstrates the usability of the Apple iPhone.
The video will start from showing the squid tentacles from the Pirates of the Caribbean Movie played in the iPhone. I think the video shown there by the iPhone can also promote the movie as an advertisement too.

Apple iPhone's Mac OS X Inside & Release Info

Here are some interfaces of the iPhone which the phone is actually operating on Apple's Mac OS X (operating system) to make it work. With that operating system it actually makes the phone's display and design look very slick indeed don't you think so? However the interface design is somehow a little bit similar to its rivals like the Prada and Zune but still it adds on some good points for it buttons which are huge enough for the usage of the multi touch feature. Its still good somehow according to plan and the iPhone is also still on the way of development for its third party application as said before in order to allow more access. So here enjoy some of the pictures showed in TV commercials. Link: http://www.apple.com/iphone/ads/.

Be Patient, Includes Third Party iPhone Applications

As many people might know about Apple iPhone has been developing many usability and additional features to make a phone like no other but of course some or most devices have their obstacles and risks with problematic issues. Like the Apple iPhone, currently its development have some problems in including third party applications to function well hoping the technology included works accordingly. A comment by Apple CEO Steve Jobs indicated that Apple it still putting serious thought to the iPhone's development for having third party applications.
In order to solve this problem iPhone fans and anticipating users, hope you all will be patient with the developments. Since if this problem isn't solved, most users will be using the iPhone with much disappointment as it is said that it may likely to have phone crashes which will eventually reduce its qualities:
“We want both,” he said. “We'll find a way to let 3rd parties write apps and still preserve security on the iPhone. But until we find that way we can't compromise the security of the phone. I've used 3rd party apps, the more you add, the more your phone crashes.”
So the iPhone will not have much fun and games without the third party applications when it launches in June. In other words like what Steve Jobs said "we all should be patient". Conclusion does it really matter because it might be possible for them to solve this problem so waiting could be an option, but until when?, at least they inform us about the iPhone's situation? Keep fingers crossed.~

Steve Jobs Interviewed On iPhone, Features?!

Hello there and check this out for the week. CEO Steve Jobs, iconic leader of Apple.Inc, was on an interview at D conference which was suppose to be an introduction to the new Apple TV features and about the company's developments. However instead of that it became more like an iPhone feature interview (85% of it) as it became indeed interesting during the question and answer session as Steve Jobs became somehow cautious about revealing too much of about the iPhone's development but it was still worth the while.

Here is the link of the news referred to (Jobs sheds new light on Apple iPhone at D conference)
http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/07/05/30/jobs_sheds_new_light_on_apple_iphone_at_d_conference.html

Its actually impressing how they (Apple company) have come so far since the iPod and iTunes popularity although there are many opposing companies to their developments. Which have lead them to get the idea of the iPhone to combine all their elements into one. As it was also said that currently or more like before the phones with Internet capabilities have limitations in giving proper access as it becomes a bit unreliable but now with the iPhone, Mr Steve Jobs said that the Apple iPhone can now support better Internet access and to help boost the 3G network it in future that will also give a better usability besides of using "baby Internet" as the only mainstream device. So in conclusion for now the iPhone can actually help drive business due to it's capabilities inherited from the iPod, supported Internet access, video capability and etc, soon to much than it is now perhaps? or it becomes outdated by losing its touch to others or so...?

Well here is the video about on the interview it actually quite entertaining hope it does not bore you all ~ and here is the link for the video (Click Here) (if the video cannot work, sorry)
the interview also have some information of their company progress.

So how is it, looks somehow convincing to have an Apple iPhone now? well he had one on the in his pocket.
He somehow teased the crowd about having new features in the iPhone as everyone was curious until when he said "No" smilling.
Cool'er right?~
